Since 2011, the Gonzales ISD Education Foundation has made a difference for teachers and students within the district through awarding over $300,000 in teaching grants. In addition to awarding annual Teacher grants, the Foundation began awarding Campus grants in 2023 for eligible projects as a way of extending the reach and impact of our mission even further. Find resources and applications here.
Grants are designed to encourage, facilitate, and recognize and reward innovative and creative instructional approaches to accomplish program objectives. Teachers receiving grants have enhanced their classrooms and curriculum with projects ranging from center accessories and active learning furnishings, to materials and technology that enhance lesson modules.
Teacher grants of up to $2,500 and Campus grants of up to $6,500 are awarded annually. The number of grants given each year is determined by the amount of funds available from the Foundation. Criteria for grant consideration include: clarity of objectives and how the project will be implemented, the reach of students the project will benefit, the degree to which student academic performance is emphasized, and measurability of successful impact through evaluation procedures, to name a few.
